Discover Wellness at Cornwall Park

Nestled in the heart of Tamaki Makaurau, Auckland, Cornwall Park is a picturesque escape from the city's hustle and a vibrant wellness destination that offers an abundance of activities aimed at rejuvenating the mind, body and spirit. Our park invites visitors to immerse themselves in its serene landscapes through a variety of engaging experiences, each designed to foster a connection with nature and promote holistic wellbeing.

Wellness themed events

Every season, we host free wellness-themed events that celebrate the benefits of outdoor activities. Our events offer something for everyone, from creative workshops such as earth art and nature journaling to low impact exercise such as tai chi and meditation walks.

We also offer guided Forest Bathing, a Japanese-inspired practice that encourages individuals to mindfully engage with the natural environment. Walking slowly through the park's lush paths, you can tune into the symphony of rustling leaves, cicadas and birdsong, allowing the tranquil atmosphere to rejuvenate your senses and reduce stress.

Our wellness events offer a fantastic opportunity for anyone who loves spending time at parks. They not only help you enjoy the physical beauty of the park but also allow you to deepen your connection with nature. You can learn mindfulness techniques that you can easily incorporate into your everyday routine, making your time in nature even more rewarding. Stay up to date with our events by joining our mailing list, most activities will require you to register your spot.

Being active

For fitness enthusiasts, our expansive open spaces are perfect for exercise. You can join the weekly Park Run every Saturday morning or check out the fitness keep, located off Pōhutukawa Drive (café side), a great spot for group exercise, calisthenics training or a post-run stretch.

As the seasons shift, our park offers stunning scenery to enjoy during your walks! Experience the gingko grove in autumn as the leaves turn gold, admire the magnificent magnolias in winter, witness the new born lambs and calves during late winter to spring, and keep an eye out for the yellow pōhutukawas in early summer near the Bistro carpark.

Our exercise trail is also available to download from our website or pop in Huia Lodge for a brochure.

Mindfulness

Meanwhile, those seeking a more mindful experience can practice mindfulness through observing the park's diverse flora and fauna, perhaps with the help of binoculars or a magnifying glass for a closer look at nature's intricate details.

Creating a nature mandala is another wonderful way to connect with the natural world and find peace in the moment. Begin by collecting natural materials from your surroundings. Look for items like leaves, flowers, stones, twigs, seeds, and pinecones.

Start by placing an item at the centre, this will act as the focal point and will guide the symmetry of your design. Arrange your materials around the centre, working outward in concentric circles. Experiment with different shapes and textures to create your desired pattern.

Once your mandala is complete, take a moment to appreciate your creation. Consider taking a photo to capture the moment, as natural mandalas are ephemeral and may change with time and weather.

Creating connections

Cornwall Park is also a vibrant meeting place, ideal for connecting with friends and whānau. We have ample space for picnic gatherings and free BBQ facilities available. Whether you're walking your dog on lead, riding bikes with the kids, or simply enjoying the company of the park's resident cows and sheep, our park offers a welcoming environment for all ages to gather and enjoy quality time together. Cornwall Park Café and Bistro are also great spots to catch up over lunch or enjoy a coffee to-go as you enjoy your stroll in the park.

Overall, Cornwall Park is a sanctuary of health and wellness. Our central location in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland ensures that this natural haven remains a beloved destination for both locals and visitors seeking to enrich their lives through the joys and benefits of nature.
