Help provide vital data to support bird life in the park.

During school holidays, keeping the kids busy can be a challenge. That's where Cornwall Park comes in. Here’s five free things to do with kids at Cornwall Park these school holidays.

Complete our Citizen Science Bird Survey

Encourage your kids to become citizen scientists. Our community-led bird survey is an essential tool for monitoring the health of our birdlife. By observing and recording the species that call our 9000 trees home, you provide vital data to support birdlife in the park.

The survey runs all school holidays until Sunday 26 April. Here's what you need to do to participate:

1. We have created a map with locations that need to be monitored. Choose your monitoring location on the map and head that way!

2. Look for birds in that spot for one hour.

3. Use the tally sheet to record the numbers of birds you see (or hear) at that location.

4. Hand the sheet back into Huia Lodge Discovery Hub or email to info@cornwallpark.co.nz - we will upload your data into our database!

5. Visit cornwallpark.co.nz/birdsurvey for more details.
