Heritage Day: Play


Cornwall Park has been a place for fun, games and connection since opening in 1903. From bicycle races and flying kites to tī rākau and rugby, generations have made memories here with whānau and friends. We’re celebrating over a century of play— helping visitors discover games of the past and present.

Join us day for a day filled with displays, fun activities, and entertainment perfect for the whole whānau.

Location: Surrounding the Cornwall Park Band Rotunda.

how to get here

There is limited parking available in Cornwall Park, we suggest carpooling or using public transport where possible. Vehicle access to this area is by Green Lane West park gates only.

Bus
Bus route 650 stops outside Fresh Choice and Greenlane Clinical Centre on Green Lane West. It is a 1.1 km walk to the Band Rotunda
Bus routes 30, 064, 309, OUT are available on Manukau Road with stops by Campbell Crescent. It is a 1.8km walk to the Band Rotunda

Train
Huia Lodge is a 2km walk from Greenlane Train Station.

Ride share
The best address is Cornwall Park Cafe. Vehicle access to this area is from the Green Lane West gates only.

There are paved pathways throughout the area, most of the activities will be based on the level grass surrounding the Band Rotunda. There are accessible toilets at the flagstaff car park and Cornwall Park Cafe and limited accessible parking in the car park.

There are water fountains and limited BYO BBQ facilities also available in this area.

We suggest bringing your own picnic to enjoy in the shade of the trees. Or get into the spirit and picnic in vintage style.
