Visitors experienced the sounds and feel of te taiao (environment) in a self-guided hīkoi (walk) to the tihi (summit) of Maungakiekie One Tree Hill in 2026.

Maungakiekie Self Guided Hīkoi for Matariki was a collaboration between the Tūpuna Maunga Authority, Te Whatu Stardome and Cornwall Park, and was part of the 2026 Tāmaki Makaurau Matariki Festival.
